Lemon Biscuits with FAGE Total

A delightful treat with a hint of citrus.


9 tbsp butter, softened
1¼ cups and 2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 pinch salt
1 medium egg
¾ cup FAGE Total, FAGE Total 2%, or FAGE Total 0%
3 ¼ cups and 2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp baking powder
2 lemons, zested
2 tbsp brown sugar

  1. In a mixing bowl, add the butter, the granulated sugar and a pinch of salt and beat with a mixer to obtain a thick cream.
  2. Next, add the egg (at room temperature), the FAGE Total, the lemon zest, and lastly some of the shifted flour. Mix well. While mixing, add the remaining flour and the baking powder.
  3. Flour a work surface and knead the dough into a compact ball with your hands.
  4. Roll out the dough ball to form a smooth log and cut into small uniform pieces. Roll each piece into a small strand 2 inches long and ¾ of an inch in diameter, and lay them out on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, spacing them out by a few inches to make sure they don’t merge during baking.
  5. Sprinkle with brown sugar and bake in an oven preheated to 350°F for 18–20 minutes.
