Baked Pear with Spiced Yogurt Topping

Ingredients

Baked Pear:

4 firm, ripe pears, such as Bosc, Bartlett, or Anjou

4 tablespoons pecans, chopped

1 rounded cup cranberries, fresh or frozen

½ cup old fashioned rolled oats

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

4 tablespoons honey or agave

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pinch of salt

Spiced Yogurt Topping:

1 cup FAGE Total 0%, 2%, 5%, or BestSelf Plain

3 tablespoons honey or agave

¼ teaspoon ground ginger

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom

Orange zest (optional)

    Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Cut the pears in half lengthwise and remove the core and place cut side up into a foil-lined baking dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix pecans, cranberries, oats, butter, honey, cinnamon, and salt. Spoon mixture on top of the pears.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes or until the pears are tender.
  5. In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, honey, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cardamom. Set aside in the refrigerator until the pears are ready.
  6. Remove pears from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Place 2 halves onto a plate and serve with spiced yogurt and orange zest. Serve immediately.
